July 1, 2014 City of Shinnston ~ Fireworks display begins at 7:30 p.m. at Ferguson Park. The Shinnston Community Band will perform at 8:45 with fireworks to follow. The rain date is Tuesday, July 2. July 3, 2014 near Eastpointe ~Fireworks by the water tanks by Eastpointe at dusk. July 5, 2014: Clarksburg VA Park ~Fireworks immediately following the Florida-Georgia Line Concert at the VA Park. July 6, 2014 Clarksburg City Park: ~Fireworks in the Park at Clarksburg City Park. Event starts at noon and ends at 11 p.m. Wild World of Animal Show starts at 2 p.m.

The Shinnston City Council will hold a biennial organizational meeting July 1 at Noon... at this meeting, the Mayor and Vice Mayor will be selected and board appointments will be made.

Bridgeport Benedum Festival will be held July 10, 2014 - July 12, 2014 at the Bridgeport City Park. The Bridgeport Benedum Festival is held annually in honor of ""The Great Wildcatter"" Michael Late Benedum. Considered the modern day founder of Bridgeport, Benedum spent 70 years in the Oil and Gas Industry. He retained a lifelong affection for West Virginia, Bridgeport, Clarksburg and Harrison County, which he expressed through many philanthropic projects, including the restoration and beautification of Bridgeport Cemeteries, construction of a new Methodist Church, and a Civic Center for the citizens of Bridgeport, located at the site of the home where he was born and raised. He also established the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, to help further higher education. It will feature fireworks, live music, food and craft vendors, Pet Parade, 5K Run, fishing derby, chicken roast, children's activities and car show.
